I asked for it

By Robbie on December 29, 2011

My entreaties to people interested in my show this evening to buy tickets in advance have apparently borne fruit. The show's about sold out. Consequently, it's almost certain that some will be turned away at the door, a prospect I don't relish. So once again, and this time out of consideration to your interests not mine, I must encourage you, if you plan to come tonight but haven't bought the ticket, please do, before making the drive.

I'll be there and best of all I'll be hitting up that sweet Berwyn Olive Garden pre-show. Nothing says Country like bread sticks and pasta bowl!

Bummed I am going to miss your show. I wish Fitzgeralds would let us Chicagoans buy over the phone instead of having to make the drive out there and risk not getting tix.

Will see you though in January at the Hide Out.

Happy New Year! 2011 will go down as a great year for me- it was the year I first saw you live. First at the Lincoln Hall Michael Jackson extravaganza, then the Gram Parsons show at the Hideout, and Midsommar Fest. All of which rocked my world. You're the greatest and Chicago is so lucky to have you.

I am also looking for 2 or 3 extra tickets if anyone has them. Thank you kindly!

Kim - for what it's worth for future reference, it looks like you can buy tix for will call pickup at Fitzgerald through Ticketweb.

And welcome to the club regarding the joys of Robbie live! I recently moved from Chicago (to Indy) and miss the frequent opportunities to partake. Almost made it up there for tonight's show but plans fell through.

Darn, we had an extra ticket but weren't able to sell it at the door. We brought friends who had never seen this show before and everyone said that they would never miss another. Robbie, you are an amazing performer, musician, comic...so much talent. My friend mentioned "Can you imagine him in Jr. High? Mr. Fulks, sit down, Mr. Fulks would you like to share your comments with the rest of the class?"

Loved the show and I know you can't keep doing the same things forever, but I will admit my grief for the absence of the Rap of the Dead.

We'll catch your show at the Hideout some time in 2012. Thanks for a great night.

@Mike. Actually, I tried to buy tickets using Ticketweb and there was only an option to call the day of the show. When I called they first said they would not take an order over the phone and insisted we drive to Berwyn from Chicago. I called later and there were gone. Unfortunately, a friend who works at Fitzgeralds contacted me later saying I should have asked him for help. Luckily, I got to see most of it on You Tube.

Robbie, The Northshore Rep is genius! Looking forward to seeing you at the Hideout soon.

    Happy New Year Everyone!
