Friends, ladies: I have a handful of midwest shows over the next few months that are event-like. I recommend (and hope) that you get advance tickets.
In preparation for a record of new acoustic songs I'm making in November, I'll be doing three shows with the heavy-hitting assemblage with whom I'm recording. With me will be Ron Spears (James King, Soecial Consensus, Rhonda Vincent), Robbie Gjersoe (Joe Ely, Jimmie Dale Gilmore, Greencards), Jenny Scheinman (Bill Frisell, Bruce Cockburn, Norah Jones), and Mike Bub (Del McCoury, Weary Hearts, Tim O'Brien). Crazy parts, odd sum. Our shows will be seated but mostly fun; some of my new tunes are a little heavy and/or quiet, but I'll be bantering and japing as usual and I'll make sure to do some older favorites and take requests. My end-of-year show, which combines my band's music with musical cabaret sketch-comedy focusing on the events of the year past, will be on Thursday December 29 at Fitzgeralds in Berwyn IL. I don't think they're selling tickets for this one yet, but please save the date.
Finally, I'll be playing at the Unity Temple in Oak Park IL on Saturday January 28. I haven't made up my mind yet about what I want to do in this awesome-looking space, but it will no doubt involve a small acoustic group -- maybe some of the same personnel as on the above trio of dates -- and some musical anti-theistic polemics!

No Hideout show on Monday, October 10? They have shows before and after announced but nothing on that date. Coming in from out of town and was looking forward to catching one of the Monday night shows...
The heretics at Unity Temple will be thrilled to hear "musical anti-theistic polemics." Maybe you could lead a service some time. :)
