is the mailing list working?
Those of you who have signed up to be on my mailing list for notifications of my appearances in your area, are you receiving the info -- is our system working? For instance, if you live in the New York City area you should have recently gotten the notification that I'm playing at the Mercury Lounge a week from tonight. Drop me a line and let me know if you've received an automatic email on a show of mine within the last year or so, or if you live within 50 miles of a venue I've played and were supposed to get word but didn't. (I know the 50-mile-radius parameter has received criticism, but that's an item for a different day.)

Nope - didn't get word about the Mercury Lounge show (I'm in NJ on the other side of the tunnel), though I did get word from Ticketmaster (where I told them once upon a time I wanted to hear about your shows).
I got nothing. Not that it matters, as I get emails from Bill F. to tell me when you will be at the Deer Lodge.
I've never received one of those emails. I took this to mean that I wasn't welcome at your shows, but rebel that I am, I went anyways.
Last time I saw you you were playing the banjo and singing John Denver is Ms Deaton's 4th grade class. Never thought our lives would intersect again! Very cool to see your success :)
