hey texas people: i'm coming to texas

By Robbie on November 16, 2010

I'll be in Dallas this Thursday night, playing at my friend Mike Snider's warm and cozy hangout the Allgood Cafe. Then on Friday at the immortal Mucky Duck in Houston's fashionable Robbie Fulks District. Get babysitters, organize a carpool, arrive early, spare no expense; we're gonna have a real good time together!

It was an excellent and inspiring show (Houston, Mucky Duck, 11/19). Even though you are an adult of 47 now and have mellowed ("I Want to Be Left Alone"), you have lost none of the magical performing skills that you honed over the 26 years I have know you. The extended guitar breaks were tasty, especially when they had absolutely nothing to do with the tune. My friends and I had a wonderful time, as did the rest of the crowd. Thanks for a great show and a truly memorable rendition of "Nickels and Dimes". Never mind about Ranger Doug - I kept playing the tune regularly on the radio for spite. See you down the road, Rick

Fantastic show! This was my first time seeing you live and I couldn't have had a better time. I really hope you'll come down to Houston more often. We'll even try to do something about the annoyingly chatty drunk lady up front next time.

We were back at the Duck last night for the 1st show of The Band of Heathens. The Drunk Champagne lady wasn't there, but we visualized a 2nd set filled with slurry, "We Luv You Heathens" followed by the angry, "Shutt-up" responses. It's a hell of a way to remember a show.
